Mark the paper with your child, not for them. The working matters more than the mark — it says which mistake each wrong answer comes from.

The easiest way to see it is to follow the dot: it travels round the shape in the same direction each time, never jumping across it. Three figures are shown, so the answer is a quarter turn anticlockwise on from the third one, which is A. D is the trap: it is the step flipped over rather than turned, so the dot ends up on the wrong side, and no amount of turning will ever match it. C and B are the right shape turned by the wrong amount.
