What we do not collect

• No accounts. There is nothing to sign up for, so we never ask for your child's name, age, school, year group or email address, and there is no password to lose.
• No stored answers or scores. When your child works through a set of questions or sits a mock paper, the answers live in the page while they are using it. Close the tab and they are gone. They are never written to our database.
• No cookies. Neither this site nor anything on it sets a cookie — not for analytics, not for preferences, not for anything. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
• No advertising and no advertising trackers on any page, and none planned on the pages children use.

What we do count

We count anonymous totals — how many times a topic was started, how many mock papers were finished, how many times a paper was downloaded — because without them we cannot tell which topics to write next.

These counters record the event and nothing else. They are not attached to a person, a session or a device, they cannot be traced back to an individual, and they deliberately do not include scores. We know a mock paper was completed; we do not know how anyone did.

What happens automatically

The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes the technical details of a request — IP address, browser type, the page asked for — in order to deliver the page, keep the service available and block abuse. We do not use that data to build a profile of anyone and we do not combine it with anything else.

Files such as the past papers are served from Cloudflare R2. Downloading one involves the same technical processing and nothing more.

Cloudflare also injects a small analytics script, static.cloudflareinsights.com, on every page. It is the one third-party request the site makes. It counts page views and performance timings, it sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, and it does not follow anyone between sites. We would rather the page made no third-party request at all, and that is where this is heading.

Other sites we link to

Some links leave this site — to GOV.UK, to the National Archives, to local authority and school admissions pages. Once you follow one of those you are on somebody else's site, under their privacy policy, not this one. We have no control over and no visibility of what they do.

Children

The practice pages are designed to be used by a child, usually with an adult nearby. Because we hold no personal data about any child, there is no profile to build, no data to share and nothing to delete. That is a deliberate design decision rather than a policy promise: the simplest way to protect children's data is not to collect any.

Your rights

UK data protection law gives you rights over personal data held about you — to see it, correct it, or have it erased. We hold none, so in practice there is nothing for those rights to act on. If you believe we hold something about you, write to us and we will look and tell you what we find.

If this changes

If the site ever collects something — an email address for updates, for example — this page will say so before it happens, it will be opt-in, and it will never be on the pages children use.
