11 times table

Children in England learn the 11 times table in Year 4. Here is the whole table, the patterns that make it easier, practice with the working shown, and worksheets to print.

The 11 times table

  1. 1 × 11 = 11
  2. 2 × 11 = 22
  3. 3 × 11 = 33
  4. 4 × 11 = 44
  5. 5 × 11 = 55
  6. 6 × 11 = 66
  7. 7 × 11 = 77
  8. 8 × 11 = 88
  9. 9 × 11 = 99
  10. 10 × 11 = 110
  11. 11 × 11 = 121
  12. 12 × 11 = 132

Patterns that help

  • Up to 11 × 9, the answer is the digit written twice: 11 × 4 = 44, 11 × 7 = 77.
  • After that, eleven 12s is ten 12s plus one more 12: 11 × 12 is 120 + 12 = 132.
  • 11 × 10 = 110 and 11 × 11 = 121 are the two to learn by heart.

Already met: 11 × 2, 11 × 3, 11 × 4, 11 × 5, 11 × 8, 11 × 10. These are in tables learnt before Year 4, just the other way round.

New in this table: 11 × 6, 11 × 7, 11 × 9, 11 × 11, 11 × 12.

Practise the 11 times table

12 questions, mixed up: some multiplying, some missing numbers, some dividing. Nothing is timed. After each one you'll see the answer and a quick way to work it out.

A quick way to every fact

If one won't stick, there's nearly always an easier fact one step away.

  • 11 × 6 = 66 Eleven 6s is the digit twice: 66.
  • 11 × 7 = 77 Eleven 7s is the digit twice: 77.
  • 11 × 9 = 99 Eleven 9s is the digit twice: 99.
  • 11 × 11 = 121 Eleven 11s is ten 11s plus one more: 110 + 11 = 121.
  • 11 × 12 = 132 Eleven 12s is ten 12s plus one more: 120 + 12 = 132.

Counting in 11s

Saying the answers in order is the first step. Each one is 11 more than the last.

  1. 0
  2. 11
  3. 22
  4. 33
  5. 44
  6. 55
  7. 66
  8. 77
  9. 88
  10. 99
  11. 110
  12. 121
  13. 132

Division facts for free

Every times table fact gives a division fact too. If you know 11 × 7 = 77, you also know 77 ÷ 11 = 7.

  • 11 ÷ 11 = 1
  • 22 ÷ 11 = 2
  • 33 ÷ 11 = 3
  • 44 ÷ 11 = 4
  • 55 ÷ 11 = 5
  • 66 ÷ 11 = 6
  • 77 ÷ 11 = 7
  • 88 ÷ 11 = 8
  • 99 ÷ 11 = 9
  • 110 ÷ 11 = 10
  • 121 ÷ 11 = 11
  • 132 ÷ 11 = 12

Each one prints on A4 with the answers on a second page. They're the same every time you print them.

Sheet A: In order

1 × to 12 ×, straight through. Start here. 12 questions.

Sheet B: Mixed up

All twelve facts, both ways round, in a jumbled order. 23 questions.

Sheet C: Missing numbers and division

Find the missing number, then divide. The same facts, used backwards. 24 questions.

Questions parents ask

When do children learn the 11 times table?

In Year 4, under the national curriculum in England. Year 4 finishes the job: by the end of the year children should know every table up to 12 × 12, ready for the multiplication tables check in June.

Is the 11 times table in the Year 4 multiplication tables check?

Yes. 1 to 3 questions in every check. The check has 25 questions, with six seconds to answer each one.

How can I help my child learn the 11 times table?

Start with what your child already knows. 11 × 2, 11 × 3, 11 × 4, 11 × 5, 11 × 8, 11 × 10 are in tables learnt before Year 4, just the other way round, so that leaves 5 new facts. Learn one pattern at a time. Up to 11 × 9, the answer is the digit written twice: 11 × 4 = 44, 11 × 7 = 77. Then practise little and often: a set of twelve questions above takes a few minutes, and every answer shows a quick way to work it out.
